Everton have 30m bid accepted. Can see us getting left further behind as we scrape around the bargain basement end of the market.

Re: Pickford

In the current market that's not actually a bad price
Jarvis and Carroll cost us that between them 4 years ago
We won't match it though - is test burnleys resolve over heaton

£30m is way too much to spend to upgrade from Adrian/Randolph to Pickford/Adrian.

Whether you like it or not Everton is a better proposition than us at the moment.

Becomes the 3rd most expensive goalkeeper in history.
I know prices are going up, and this kid potential, but that's a hell of a lot of cash to be handing over for him.

The PL money is absolutely ruining football.Transfer values are a joke and with China trying to compete it's only getting worse.

Is he £30M better than Adrian?
No chance, had a good Season at Sunderland but still prone to the odd mistake and didnt think his kicking was great when we played them away
Rather the cash be spent elsewhere GK is not a priority for me. Id back that there would be better value keepers out there if you want to sign one after we sort the forward, wide and right back areas

Being English always bumps the price up. Also Everton have a history of getting the best out of keeper's.

Everton showing some ambition and going for a keeper who has years left in him and is showing great promise. We, on the other hand, will try and get washed up Joe Hart on loan with Man City supplementing most of his wages.

He's not worth it.
You could get a foreign keeper as good for about a third of the price.

One with Premier league experience who won't be linked with going to Spain every year like DeGea and Courtois? He could be their keeper for the next dozen years or more. Good investment from an ambitious club

i'm sure there is a cheaper option out there somewhere, and if there is i am also sure that DS would be all over it.

£30m after 1 good season?
That's a high risk move and I'm glad we didn't get involved.

Seems a decent young keeper. Why anyone would be interested at that sort of price is beyond me. If he drops a couple of crosses he's worth next to nothing.

Adrian on form played his way into the Spain squad. We should stick with quality when we lack it elsewhere

Re: Pickford

Adrian also quite soon after lost form and was dropped by Spain and us.
We haven't spent a penny on the two keepers we have that BOTH got dropped last season after poor form. Other than Striker I can't think of a position we really lack quality in than Keeper.

Re: Pickford

Surely a fair amount of the £30m will be appearance based, both at club and country level?
